What Is Single-Ply Membrane Roofing?
Single-ply membranes are premium polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) roofing systems, the modern standard for flat and low-slope commercial roofs.
During installation, membrane rolls are overlapped and heat-welded together, then mechanically fastened or fully adhered to the roof. Heat welding fuses the seams into a single molecular bond, stronger than the membrane itself, forming an exceptionally durable, waterproof, energy-efficient shield over the entire building.
Restoration First, But When You Need a New Roof, This Is It

How a Single-Ply Roof Is Installed
Prepare.
Loose dirt and debris are removed, and insulation boardstock is installed, adding R-value and a clean, uniform substrate.
Lay the Membrane.
Membrane rolls are applied with seams overlapped in the direction of water run-off, then mechanically fastened or fully adhered.
Weld the Seams.
Seams are heat-welded, by hand and robotic welder, fusing the sheets into one continuous waterproof membrane.
Seal the Details.
Free edges, penetrations, and terminations are sealed with urethane sealant and flashed to specification.
PVC or TPO, Which Membrane Is Right for Your Building?
Both are excellent, and we install both. As a rule of thumb: **PVC** offers the best flexibility and chemical resistance, making it the choice for restaurants, manufacturing, and roofs with grease or chemical exposure. **TPO** delivers outstanding all-around performance and value for warehouses, retail, and general commercial use.
